This is achieved by ensuring that the cells get enough vitamins. Vitamins play a crucial role in the assimilation of energy in the body. Consumption of vitamins in sufficient quantity is very essential as this helps cells to process energy more efficiently. Vitamins are very important for the metabolic reactions. Fats, carbohydrates and protein simply provide energy. Vitamins enable the body to process this energy and to utilize it for supporting the various functions of the body. Thus, not only do vitamins play an integral part not only in maintaining and improving eyesight, but they effectively uplift the condition of each and every cell of the body.

Lutein is essential to prevent macular degeneration. Macula is the part of the retina which allows the eye to focus. If it is exposed to ultraviolet rays of light, then it becomes damaged. Lutein is a yellow colored substance which protects the macula from UV rays and exposure to sunlight. However, it is not always possible to include all the essential vitamins in one's diet. thus eye supplements are recommended to ensure a sufficient supply of vitamins.
