Introduction
Whether we have dark skin or light, we all wish the same thing: to have a perfect skin. So, we spend a lot of money on the best products, we go frequently to beauty salons, we desperately ask for tips to get rid of skin problems, until we finally find out that we just have to follow a few steps of daily care to have a dark skin free of flaws. Here are the basic steps of a daily care regimen: healthy diet, cleanses, invigorate, moisturize and protect.

It is said that we are what we eat and drink. So, if your diet lacks of important minerals and vitamins or if it is rich in fats, fried foods and sweets, your dark skin will reveal your unhealthy lifestyle eventually. The cells in the skin need nutrients to be able to regenerate and to be able to remain elastic as long as possible. Skin’s cells also need to be hydrated with water. So, if you want to achieve a perfect dark skin, start the care regimen from inside and include in your diet at least one pond of fresh fruits and uncooked vegetables daily.

Then, continue the care regimen with the skin cleansing. The dead skin cells and clogged pores are the number one enemies of a flawless dark skin. So, every time you wash your face or body use exfoliating products and scrubs to unblock the pores filled with dirt, oil and dead skin cells. Choose products enriched with vitamins and minerals to help your skin regenerate. Avoid soaps because these will dry out your skin and will make it look patchy.

After that, you must apply a toner to balance the level of your skin’s pH. This will not only diminish the pores, but will also make it look more firm and refreshed. Choose one with antibacterial proprieties if you want the germs to stay away from your face all day, read carefully the label because you have to stay away from toners containing alcohol, fragrance and propylene glycol. Since dark skin is known for having problems with the melatonin in the skin, take care to use only toners formulated for your type of skin because otherwise you might wake up with discolored areas on your face or body.

The moisturizer is the most important step in this care regimen. Dark skin is prone to become ashy and dry, so you should never forget to hydrate your complexion. Take care to choose the moisturizer according to your skin type and problems. If you have an oily type of skin, go for water-based products. If you have dry skin, nourish it with creams based on mineral oils like jojoba or others.
Step 5
Finally, even though the dark pigments are especially created to resist better in the sun, you shouldn’t go out without a thin layer of sunscreen all year round. Sun rays are very harmful and can cause skin cancer if you don’t protect yourself.
