Vitamins are organic nutrients which are primarily produced by plants but are not usually produced within animals, even humans. Though these nutrients are not produced by our body itself, they are required in high dosage by our system to function properly and to provide us with energy to work. Vitamin deficiency leads to malnutrition and in general a poor health and a weak system.

History

Up till now fourteen different types of vitamins have been discovered namely vitamin A, B group vitamins, vitamin C, D, E and K. These vitamins are found in various food products but not collectively. One food item may be rich in one type of vitamin but may not have others. A good health nutrition vitamin diet hence includes those food items which are rich in all essential vitamins required for proper health. Good health cannot be achieved without the intake of all kinds of vitamins because which the importance of a health nutrition vitamin diet must never be under estimated.

All the vitamins discovered so far have multipurpose roles that they play within our system. Vitamin A for example is a very important vitamin which acts as a fat solubilizing agent, prevents our skin and tissue from getting dry and most importantly strengthens the light sensitive area of our eyes. People lacking vitamin A generally suffer from night blindness. This vitamin is found in fish, liver, eggs, carrots, dairy products, sweet potatoes and some green vegetables. Either of these items must be included in a health nutrition vitamin diet but since vitamin A can be stored in our system, everyday intake might not be that necessary. A health nutrition vitamin diet should also consist of citrus fruits, tomatoes and berries as these food items are rich of another very important vitamin, Vitamin C. Vitamin C is required not only to make teeth and bones strong, but this vitamin acts as antioxidant to remove toxins from our body, cleans our system and fights off various allergens. Unlike vitamin A, vitamin C is not properly stored hence food items rich in this vitamin should be included in our daily diet. Vitamin D is another essential vitamin which helps the body to regulate calcium to make the bones strong. Without vitamin D calcium can’t be utilized at all. It is found primarily in sunlight and food items such as fish meat and liver. Vitamin K is required for the clotting of blood. People suffering from vitamin K deficiency get a lot of nose bleeds and their wounds heal very slowly or they don’t heal at all. The absence of this vitamin leads to serious problems hence food items rich in this vitamin such as yoghurt, fish liver oils, green leafy vegetables and cabbage should be regularly consumed. Other important food items that must be included in a health nutrition vitamin should be rich in vitamins b12, b1 and vitamin E.

Tips and comments

Those vitamins that are not stored by our body should never be skipped on daily basis. A good proper health nutrition vitamin diet includes meat along with all the vegetables as meat has vitamin b12, without which proper brain functioning is not possible and vitamin b12 is stored in animal meat. Hence fruits and vegetables alone should not be consumed as meat is equally important to provide us with vitamins, which in turn leads to a proper healthy life.
