A towel should be placed around the shoulders of the person to prevent lice falling on the body. The hair must be applied with any kind of oil and should be free of tangles to make combing easy. The hair should be separated in small sections and pined. This makes combing easy and it is also easy to see the affected areas where they are nits.

The comb should be pulled through the hair several times. The nits and lice in the comb have to be disposed off. It can be dipped into soapy water. After the nits and lice are removed the comb can then be used to comb the head hair once again. After this is done a few times, the hair should be washed thoroughly and rinsed well.
