To enjoy a fun-filled day at the beach, why not take your family to the nearest beach aquarium. Many aquariums are located near beaches across the country. An aquarium is home to many exotic fish and marine animals. This can be fun for children and adults alike. Walk through rooms of tropical fish and even experience a shark tunnel as select aquariums, where sharks swim around you at all angles. If you are going to at the beach for a day, take some time to visit the local beach aquarium. You can have fun in the water and looking at the animals that live there.

Step 1

If planning to visit a beach aquarium after a long day at the beach, make sure that you bring a change of clothes with you. Most aquariums will not allow you to enter if you are not fully dressed in a shirt, bottoms, and shoes. You should also not be soaking wet from the ocean when you visit the beach aquarium. In addition to this not being allowed, it could be very uncomfortable walking around for a period of time in the aquarium while you are wet and full of sand. Most beaches offer public restrooms, where you can dry off and change into a new pair of clothes. Bring something that you will be comfortable wearing.

Plan your trip to the beach aquarium before going. If it is a large aquarium, you can view their map to see all of the different exhibits and attractions that are available to see there. Some aquariums even have special touch tanks, where you can touch animals such as sting rays, star fish, and more. Adults and children will both enjoy being able to view and touch all of these animals. Not only will you see fish while you are at the beach aquarium, but you will see other exhibits as well. Purchase beach aquarium tickets in advance. If buying tickets at the door when you get there, you will usually not get any discounts. If you are a member of the AAA Auto Club, you may be able to take advantage of your membership benefits and get discounted rates on beach aquarium tickets. There may also be special discounts available at the door for military personelle and AARP members.

Tips

Your beach aquarium may also have additional attractions available to experience there. Some aquariums also have dive experiences, where you can dive with this fish and sharks. Others have dolphin swimming experiences. All extra attractions at the beach aquarium will cost an additional fee. These tickets can be purchased at the door upon your arrival or may be able to be purchased in front of the attraction if you have not already purchased tickets.
