A visit to a local nursery in the area or some online research will help you to find plants that can withstand the harsh environment that living by the ocean provides. Do not fear, you will be able to have some plants and greenery, maybe just not as much as you would have liked.

One other thing to be aware of when living in homes by the ocean, is that fact that tropical storm and hurricane warnings should be taken seriously, always. While those living inland might wait until the last minute to prepare or may just ignore warnings all together, you should not. Take the time to board up windows and do evacuate when it is recommended.

Living by the ocean is a wonderful experience. Seeing the beautiful ocean every day, watching boats sail by, spending lazy days on the beach. It all more than makes up for any negatives.
