European Football (soccer) in Spain has been known all over the world as we have seen many exciting games all over the world cups by Spain. The soccer team is favored not only by the people of Spain but many people from all over the globe as the team consists of great players from different football teams. Spain is officially known as Kingdom of Spain is state and a member of European Union located in southwestern Europe on the Iberian Peninsula. Spain is the second largest country of the Western Europe and after France it is the fourth largest country in Europe after Russia and Ukraine. The football team of Spain was first founded in 1909 and became affiliated with FIFA in 1913.

The team did not seem to play a full international game until the 1920 when they beat Denmark by the score 1-0 in the Olympic Games. Their first appearance at major finals was the 1934 World Cup, for which they successfully qualified after tremendous wins with an amazing score of 9-0 and 2-1 wins over Portugal. Football by Spain gradually and slowly started improving where they lost a game to Brazil but won the games ahead from 1934-1936. However, in 1950 the Spanish Civil War and World War II restricted Spain to play their games between the 1934 World Cup and 1950 World Cup qualifiers.

The current head coach is Vicente del Bosque. The Spanish side is commonly referred as L.A. Roja (The Red One) or L.A. Furia Roja (The Red Fury). Spain over the years has proved to be tough team in football by winning the UEFA European Football in 2008 and within the time of 2 years arrived the Football World Cup of FIFA in which Spain showed their talent and skills through which they took away the cup to their homeland and made their country proud.

They are currently the world champions in football. Other than being the current world champions of football Spain has also won the 1964 European Nations Cup and reached the UEFA Euro 1984 Final. In July 2008 Spain rose to the top of FIFA World Rankings for the first time in the history of football by Spain. By taking the first position in the world ranking of FIFA they became the sixth nation to do so and along with that they were the first one to become number one on the charts without winning the World Cup.
