• Cut out unneeded services.  Often we get so used to have certain services and automatically paying the bill, that we do not take the time to think about whether we actually need them or not. When thinking about ways to save more home money, think about all the services you pay for. For example, do you need all the movie channels you might have for cable, is water and milk delivery necessary? If you can eliminate some of these items that is more home money left over to save for the future or pay for needed expenses.

• Eat at home. Shop smartly when items are on sale and do more cooking at home. Eating out is expensive and often the food is not as good as what you can make at home. If you often find yourself going through the drive through or ordering take out for dinner due to time constraints, think about cooking once per week and freezing meals for the entire week. Choose a day that you have time to devote to cooking and cook a weeks worth of meals on that day. This way you have dinners for the entire week.

• Plan ahead to do all errands in a certain part of town together. This will help save on fuel usage. You will surprised by how much fuel is wasted driving back and forth to the same areas time and time again. Plan your weekly errands out on paper to help work out the best course to take to get the most done with the least amount of wasted time and gas.

• Stock up on grocery and household items when they are on sale. This will help you avoid running out at the last minute to pick something up and paying more. Leaving you with more home money saved.  Combine coupons with sales for even greater savings.
