One of the common diseases that have been causing the loss of lives is lung diseases. Many people are suffering from these diseases which can end in a tragic complications or death. People all over the world are affected by these lung diseases.
The article includes the common diseases of the lungs and some basic information about them. There are suggested ways to prevent these diseases to occur. The understanding of the seriousness of these diseases will help people get to understand why it is not to be taken lightly. Those who did not take lung diseases seriously have already caused them their lives or their loved ones’ lives. Some are now suffering from the effects of these diseases.
Types of Lung Diseases
Your lung is responsible for providing your body its need oxygen to keep you alive. Getting lung diseases is bad for your lungs and will give you difficulty in breathing. These diseases can come to you in different forms. If you don’t take care of your lungs you may acquire asthma or chronic obstructive pulmonary disease. Aside from these lung diseases, you may also get infections like influenza, pneumonia, and tuberculosis, other breathing problems, and worst, lung cancer.
Prevention is Cure
But how do you prevent these diseases from occurring? As they say, prevention is always better than cure.
People who are known smokers are prone to suffer from these lung diseases. Since smoking means taking some of the smoke in your lungs, it is just going to be a matter of time before you get your lungs to acquire some complications. So quitting smoke is one advice you might want to take.
For people who don’t smoke, always make it a point to avoid from second-hand smoke. Don’t be in places where you see people smoking. You need to also avoid exposing yourself to air pollution. If possible, wear a protective gear like a mask so you won’t inhale much of those polluted air.
Make it a point to keep your lungs strong and healthy. Regular exercise helps your lungs too. Avoid breathing in a fast pace. Deep breathing will help you take in more oxygen to your body. Breathe deeply not through your mouth but through your nostrils. Try to practice deep breathing daily if possible.
It is also noted that eating plenty of vegetables and fruits can prevent lung diseases. Fruits and vegetables are rich in vitamins and minerals that help the body. The vitamins and minerals are turned into antioxidants that help in keeping out from inflammation of the airways so you can breathe properly.
It is noted that when you sleep, your breathing is most often done in the proper pacing. Getting much sleep will not only give you the much needed energy but will also give you the right amount of oxygen to your body.

Keeping your lungs healthy is significant for your body to get its much needed oxygen to function properly. That is why it is important that you have yourself checked by a doctor if you are feeling some discomfort in breathing. Be a friend to your lungs.
