Oil Acne is a skin problem that infects humans. It’s characterized by areas of red scaly skin, with blackheads and whiteheads and possibly scars. Acne appears on the skin area with dense populations of oil producing glands called sebaceous glands. These areas are face, chest and back. Oil acne can be inflammatory but there are non-inflammatory forms too. Oil acne runs in families. It appears in teenagers. Inflammation causes redness of skin, which progress to scarring or hyper pigmentation. A hormonal cycle alteration leads to exacerbation of oil acne. A low glycemic diet or salty fried foods cause oil acne. Staphylococcus infection is also causative in oil acne pathogenesis. Increase stress increases the severity of oil acne. Family history is also a major factor in oil acne production. Low states of vitamins in body also cause oil acne production due to poor skin health and healing problems. Dust in environment increase acne as dirty skin induces more oil production and vicious cycle of oil acne goes on. Some shampoo and make up products have some kinds of oils in them which if come in contact with face, cause oilacne to rise. Habitual picking on pimples transfer infection from one part of face to other and results in production of oil acne. High levels of humidity and sweating causes oil acne. Certain drugs intake raises the risk of outburst of oil acne. High sugar content in food also causes oil acne.

It cannot be prevented 100% but its severity can lessen by adopting simple methods and effective treatments are also available. Self-care is the basic principle her, in oil acne uses special soap or medicated face wash. Shampoo your hair daily and avoid hair products to fall on face, chest and back. Eat fresh food, fruits and take lots of fluid in your diet. Wash your face too often to get rid of oil acne. Wear sun block if going out. Avoid greasy or oily make up stuff. Don’t touch, peel or pluck the pimples of oil acne.
