How To Sell a Computer on Craigslist

Step 1

Create an account with Craigslist. This is free and easy to do. Just visit the Craigslist website and click on My Account. Here, you can sign up for an account my making a username and password that you will use to log in. Having a Craigslist account is ideal, so you can easily track your postings, edit ads, and have all replies sent to your desired email address. Creating an account should only take a few minutes to complete. You may then need to activate your account by clicking a link that will be sent to your email address.

Step 3

Now you're ready to computer sell on Craigslist. Under the for sale section on the main page, navigate to the computer link. Here, you will see a listing of computers that others have recently put up for sale on the website. Ensure that you are viewing the section for your state. If not, head back to the Craigslist main page and click on your state from the right hand side of the page. Now click on the post link at the very top right hand corner of the page. Click the circle next to computers - by owner that you see on the next page and continue on.

Step 4

You should now see a few blank boxes, in which you will type your ad to computer sell. Make your title catchy, so that others will want to click it and see what you have for sale. The price should not be too high for a used computer. See what others are listing the same computer at and go from there. In the description box, add in all the computer specifications that we copied earlier. Also mention why you are selling the computer and if anything is wrong with it. Add a couple of images to the post so others can see the computer sell pictures. 

Step 5

After you have written up your ad, continue to post the computer sell up. You should now start receiving emails regarding the computer shortly. 

Tips

Don't price your computer sell for too high, but not too low either. People on Craigslist will want to bargain with you and never want to pay the full price that you have listed on the website.
