Introduction
To be on the internet and print at the same time is absolutely possible and very easy to do. You can even print photographs and documents from the internet that will be sent straight to your connected printer. To be on the internet and print, you will need a working computer, internet access, and a printer that is connected to and installed on your computer. Being on the internet and printing at the same time gives us the ability to print information from web pages, important emails, family pictures, and so much more.
Step 1
The first thing you will want to do to be on the internet and print, is to start up the computer that you will be using to do this. If you're already on your desired computer, you can skip this step. If you are going to be printing from a different computer, other than the one that you are already using, turn it on now.
Step 2
Connect your computer to the internet. If your computer is already hooked up to the internet, you may already be connected. If you are not at home or are simply not connected to an internet network yet, do so now. Click on the network icon that can be found at the bottom right corner of your computer screen. Click on the icon and you will see all of the available wireless networks that are in range in your area. Connect to your network or the network that is offered to you wherever you are located. If an internet network requires a password, you wil not be able to connect to it unless you know what the password is. Now you can be on the internet and print at the same time.
Step 3
Hook up your printer. Ensure that the printer is plugged in correctly to the computer. Unless you are using a wireless printer, there should be a cable that will connect from the printer to the computer, and another wire that plugs into a wall outlet from the printer. Using the installation CD that came with your printer, install the printer software to your computer. If it is already installed, you can browse and internet and print your desired documents now.
Step 4
Open up a new web browser tab and navigate to the documents, emails, or pictures that you would like to print. Nearly anything can be printed from the internet. If you are printing photos, you will get the best results if printing on high quality photo paper. Documents can be printed on regular printer paper. Begin browsing the internet and print whatever you desire. Once you have found something to print, right click on the screen and click on print. This will bring up a print preview page, where you can select the printer that your document will print to, change the amount of pages to print, select the page layout, print in black and white or color, and more. Once you have chosen all of your options, click to print.
Step 5
Wait for your document to print to your selected printer. Once it is complete, you now know how to connect to the internet and print from it at the same time.
Tips
If you will be printing a lot, purchase a high quality printer that serves several different functions. For printing photographs, choose a printer that can also serve as a photo printer. Some great brands include Canon and HP.
