In 1979, Posingford Bridge was restored and renamed ‘Poohsticks Bridge’ and in the same year a bronze plaque was placed in highest location of the Ashdown Forest in Sussex in honor of the character of Winnie-the-Pooh, that had won the hearts of so many children around the nation. For planning such a party, the first important step is invitations- why buy them from the store when there are so many creative ways to make them yourself? One suggestion is to use construction paper to cut out the shape of a honey jar and write out the invitation in gold pen. A more elaborate way is to buy small plastic jars and fill them with honey and attach invitation tags to them. Stuffed toys of different characters from Winnie the Pooh can also be used in the same way, with invitation tags dangling from their necks or attached to their fronts. Another simple but effective idea is to print out a picture of Winnie the Pooh characters in the 100 Acre Woods and paste it to a cardboard for support. You can even build a frame around it using beads, seashells and glitter. Another way to make the frame is to paste small cut outs of honey jars all along the perimeter. Finally the party details can be written on the picture with a bold pen, or attached to the picture frame (on a stiff piece of paper) through means of a string or ribbon.
