An American television comedy series the flight of the conchords gained ample popularity on June 17th when it was first broadcasted on HBO in the year 2007. The series follows the adventures of the Flight of the conchords a two-man band from New Zealand as its members seek success in the city of New York. The show stars the academy award winner Bret McKenzie and real-life duo Jemaine Clement who play fictionalized versions of themselves. The two prominent people in the cast are seriously funny and musically talented guys who met at the University of Wellington in 1996 as roommates. They both participated in the University Drama club production called Body Play. They both received enough opportunities and after the encouraging feedback were invited to perform in Melbourne International comedy Festival. The series originated in the United States in English language.

The sitcom has promoted self-criticism and absurdity which has never worked so well before. The flight of the conchords flows with such unglamorous slacker ease that it is easy to overlook that a substantial amount of attention must go into sounding and looking just right. It is a classical humor series which is the fourth most famous folk series primarily because their own band jolted them. The series won the Bronze Sony radio Academy award for comedy.
