Southwest Florida International Airport, is the airport located at Fort Myers, Florida. Opened in 1983, the fort airport has experienced a innovative makeover in the recent years(2005)where its design focal point was today's traveler and tomorrow's opportunities. History

The main terminal is open to all the public and is an entry way to the various concourses. Located within forts airport main terminal are dunkin donuts, massage services, Starbucks, travel-mart, various eateries and shops to purchase souvenirs and gifts.

Branching off the main terminal are 3 concourses where travellers go to board their flight. To acquire access to a concourse you will require a boarding pass and identification. The different airlines at the fort airport are split between the three concourses, which we have displayed below.

Concourse B: Air Berlin, Air Canada, AirTran, Frontier, Spirit, Sun Country, and WestJet.

Concourse C: Continental,and Delta/Delta Connection

Concourse D: American, Cape Air, JetBlue, Southwest, and US Airways.

Features

Whilst at the airport you require to participate in any business and/or Financial related tasks there is a Travelex Business Center and Currency Exchange. This is located on the second floor in the main terminal within the hallway leading to concourse B. They are open on a daily basis between the hours of 9 a.m. to 5 p.m. The various services that they have on offer are prepaid credit cards, phone cards, Western Union money transfers, exchange of currencies, make copies, send or receive faxes, check emails at the Internet Kiosks, mail drop offs and prepaid travel insurance. Additionally there is a small office space available for hire.

If you find yourself in trouble and need advice there are visitor information service desks located within the fort airport. There are five in the departure floor, and are open daily( not including holidays) from 10am to 10pm January - April and 6pm May-December . These information desks are run by friendly tourism ambassador volunteers.

During your visit to the fort airport your parking needs will sure be meet with over 11,000 available parking spaces on offer. There are two different parking options on offer , these are Short-term Parking and Long-term Parking. Short term parking has the first 20 minutes free of charge and $3 hourly and the long-term parking option  is $2 a day or $60 a week. These rates are subject to change so make sure you confirm with the airport before using their parking facilities. Payment of airport parking is easy and quick, and both cash and credit card is acceptable modes of payment.

Domestic travelers should arrive at the airport 2 hours prior to their flight and international patrons 3 hours before there flight departs.
