Introduction

The Miami International Airport is the largest U.S gateway for Latin America and the Caribbean and one of the leading international passenger and freight airports, thus its a popular and bustling aviation destination. Founded in 1928, this airport is situated on 3230 acres of land in downtown Miami. If you are about to embark on travel plans via the Miami International Airport there are some basic information you should be aware of. Airport Security

On site at Miami airport are the Miami-dade airport police department, crime stoppers and the Miami-dade airport fire rescue.The Miami-Dade police department are available 24 hours a day seven days a week in response to any passenger needs. The crime stoppers is a service which welcomes any tips and warnings of criminal activity that has happened at the airport or may happen in the future. Lastly the Miami-Dade Fire rescue offers state of the art fire safety and rescue to all the airports visitors and employees.The airport have several security tips that their patrons need to abide by. These include never leaving your baggage unattended, passengers will not be authorised to enter zones that exhibit Restricted Area or Authorized Personnel Only signs, and any suspicious behaviour or luggage should be reported promptly to the airport police department.

The Miami airport's interior is enriched with innovative and modern pieces of art and exhibitions. This is for the purpose of communicating culture, environment, and international art resources. The art is scattered around the airport so passengers will be greeted with it upon their visit to the airport.

There is a concierge service available at the airport with 300 members of staff able to answer any inquiries you may have and to aid you the best they can. The service is located on the forth floor at terminal four. Tourists information counters are also scattered around the terminals, they offer information, translation services, and the resolvement of complaints. 

Features

The lost and found service is located on the forth floor in the North Terminal. It is there for you to report an item missing or to hand in any items that are found unattended. Their hours are 8am to 6pm on a daily basis.Also located at the same place is a Bank of America for you to take care of any financial related factors that may arise. Additionally ATM's are scattered throughout the airport. If you need an area to house a meeting or function of some description there are audertoriums and conferences at the airport available for reservation to fulfill that need. 

Currency Exchange services are on location at the airport in four sites on the 2nd floor, two in each of the Greeter's Lobbies, and three passing security checkpoints. Internet usage is available at the airport via data ports and a WI'Fi service which is at certain areas of the Miami airport. 

The Airport has amenities to serve your sleeping, eating and transportation needs. Their is a Miami airport hotel which is at a convenient on site location situated  at Central level E, 2nd level. If you become hungry whilst still at the airport, there are various eateries on offer to fulfill that need. These include the Boco Bons, a confectionery shop to sate any travelers sweet tooth, the Cafe Versailles; A Cuban food location, Au Bon Pain; a restaurant whose focal point is healthy eating and a Dunkin Donuts store. This is only a slight representation of the immense number of food establishments on location at the Miami Airport, there's something for any food craving. Located just one mile away from the Miami airport is the car rental centre which houses 16 rental car companies under one roof.

The airport offers means various means to get around the airport, from the airport and to travel to the Rental Car Company.These are Taxis, shuttles, buses and limousines.
