The FA Football cup, or the Football Association Challenge Cup, is very popular and a major league in the English Premier. 1871 was the year the FA Football Cup was born making it among the earliest football cups in the history of club football. Since 1872 English clubs were invited to play against each other and since then it has been open to all clubs who are part of the English Premier. In the history of the FA Football Cup, Manchester United has won the highest number championships even though currently their rival Manchester City is the current champion.

The FA Football cup is a knock out tournament where initially clubs are selected on a basis of a draw and the teams are selected at random, and even the location of the game, home or away. The FA Football cup season begins in the month of August and continues till May when the final is held. The rounds of this football cup starts with preliminary qualifying rounds, then four qualifying rounds. After teams have qualified for the football cup, they enter one of the six competition rounds. After this 4 teams, go forward to the semi-final and then the winners from that head off to compete with each other for the FA football cup title. Wembley stadium is where the final of the football cup is played. The FA Football cup is sponsored by Budwieser and has been since 2011. A staggering number of 763 English teams play for the FA football club. This number is large because of the fact that it is an open for all tournament.
