Introduction
There are so many teams that one can chose in the game of football. And one of the most popular team in the world of football is the football gator. Gator is a football team that first appeared in the state of Florida. They are college varsities from the University of Florida playing for football. Gator had its first appearance in 1906, and remain to be one top as one of the best football team in the country today. Although they may not be as famous as some professional football team, football gator manages to still remain on top as a college varsity team.
The Beginning
Gator started to introduce a list of football varsity team for the University of Florida in the fall of 1906. As an unnamed varsity team, they made it by winning three seasons and were declared as the champions of the South Carolina. From then on, Gator begun to gain recognition as a great football team from the University of Florida and the started its journey towards the national championship. Their outstanding win-loss record brought them on top as one of the toughest football team to beat in every championship.
Records
Football gator is a powerhouse of great football college player in the country. They have achieved so much in the field of football. Football gator has been playing in the football bowl championship for thirty-nine times, bagged three national championships, and won eight South-eastern Conferences. They are considered as the best college football team by the National Collegiate Athletic Association Football Bowl Division for winning more than any college team has won. The 1990s was probably the best years of the Gator for winning four straight years, including a win in the nationals. Other than winning the game, three of the Gators former coaches and eight of its players were among the College Football Hall of Fame awardees. Moreover, South-eastern Conference also honoured seventeen former players of the gators as SEC legends.
Uniforms
Gators helmet appears to have several design, and colors ranging from orange, white and blue. Logos that can be seen on the helmet also changes over time, from a simple single letter F with the player’s number on it, up to the gator’s head as can be seen in today player’s helmet. Football gator is currently using the colors orange, white and blue also on their jersey. Combination of colors for the jersey and pants depend on the time the game played and the location of the game.
Ben Hill Griffin Stadium in Florida is the home stadium of the gator since 1930. Its name was taken from Ben Hill Griffin, a university alumnus and the major benefactor of its program, but the stadium is famous for its nickname as the swamp.
For the college football fanatics, the football gator could be the best college football team ever organized and trained in the United State. Their track record shows that they are indeed the best. They are the team that can dominate the American college football.
