History

In 1625, British settlers landed on the beaches of Saint James bay and declared the King’s territory under the authority of King James. They named the present day city of Holetown as Jameston after the king himself and in his honor. The settlers soon took up land and started plantations where the locals worked. They later established schools and the place developed into the beautiful destination that it is today a popular destination for tourists living in James villas.
