Ghost adventures is a television show on the Travel Channel that first aired on October 17, 2008. This show features three crew members that include, Zak Bagans, Nick Groff, and Aaron Goodwin. The trio goes to locations that are supposedly haunted and try to investigate too see whether they can document and validate these claims. Zak Bagans, the unofficial leader of the crew, became interested in the paranormal after having a ghostly experience himself in which he saw the spirit of a suicidal woman at the foot of his bed. What brought Nick Groff to be interested in the paranormal at a young age after having unexplainable events happen to him and seeing a seeing a figure he could not explain. Aaron Goodwin had never really had much experience with the paranormal, but after being on the show he now says that he is a believer.
This show consists of the tio arriving at the location for the "lock down" and giving a brief history of the town and the paranormal happenings. After interviewing people involved and getting prepared the crew get literally locked into the houses haunted they are investigating for the night. They will setup some cameras around the building and then proceed see if they can find the ghosts themselves. Their approach is more of a head-on investigating style. The crew walks around the houses haunted and tries to make direct contact with the ghosts. Through the use of different pieces of equipment they try to validate what they themselves are feeling. Once the lock down is over they are released and will sometimes take evidence to experts for further review.

Ghost Hunters is a show on the Syfy Network that debuted on October 6, 2004. This show consists of the two main investigators, Jason Hawes and Grant Wilson as well as many other members who make up the TAPS, which stands for, The Atlantic Paranormal Society. The style that the TAPS team uses when investigating houses haunted is to go to the property and speak with the owners about the paranormal activity that has been going on. Once they have interviewed everyone involved the group sets up multiple kinds of equipment in the houses haunted to see what they can find. They will spend the night gathering evidence to later analyze for results. Once their view is done the group goes back to the owners of the houses haunted and lets them know what they find. They do this in the attempt of helping the owners of the houses haunted have some peace and know what to do next.
