Introduction

As you prepare yourself for the warm weather of spring, it is always advisable to clean up your house. However, spring cleaning is a chore some people abhor due to the amount of work involved. Fortunately, with a bit of organization, spring cleaning should not be such time consuming or laborious task to do. Here is a checklist of items to go through, in order to get yourself organized in your home spring cleaning efforts.

History

While you may want to finish cleaning your whole house in one day, this approach is often exhausting and does not guarantee good results. A better way to go around home spring cleaning is to tackle one room at a time. Come up with a checklist for each room, detailing what needs to be cleaned. Once you have your check list ready, take one weekend off specifically for cleaning your house. Make sure to buy all the necessary cleaning supplies and tools for the job. Pull out all the restrictive furniture pieces and appliances and start cleaning your house. To effectively spring clean your house, you should be ready to clean objects that you can’t see with your eyes. Some of the places that often get neglected while cleaning a house include the spaces underneath the bed, behind the home entertainment centre, etc. These spaces are ideal areas for dust to build up, which may lead to allergies for family members. To make sure that you get the job done right, you should save sometime each day to dust all of the rooms in your house. After a week, your house should be totally dust free.

Features

While home spring cleaning, the exterior of your house is just as important as the interior. However, since you are likely to find a lot of items which need attention, it can be a bit of a daunting task. You can overcome this issue by tackling them individually. For instance, you can take one day to rake the leaves in your yard, then the next day to wash the windows, then the following day to clean the porch, and so on and so forth. You should also involve family members in your spring cleaning efforts. But, since most teenagers would rather die than get involved in cleaning the house, you could come up with an incentive program to motivate them sufficiently. You can use your spring cleaning checklist to delegate duties to family members. Then reward them for each task completed successfully.

Tips and comments

Another major part of house spring cleaning is storing the seasonal clothes, like sweaters and coats, away. To make the job easy and efficient, you should come up with a set of rules on how to categorize and store winter clothing. You should also take the time to check your house hold appliances for damages. For instance, the drain pipe in your refrigerator should be cleaned out, and the accumulated lint from the dryer vents should be cleared. After winter, your garage storage is more than likely to be in a shambles. As far as home spring cleaning goes, you can either organize a garage clean up day or a garage sale.
