First of all lets get rid of the basic squeaks. Squeaky noise can often be sometimes annoying to ears. To help you out here, if you have a hardwood floor which are little exposed, simply sprinkle some talcum powder and scrubbing it between the exposed parts properly will get rid of the problem. As simple as that. If you have any basement or sometimes underneath the floor there is crawling space, simply go under it and try locating the gaps from where the noise is coming. Sometimes in an old home, you cant get under the floor and will have to work from above. Use spiral flooring nails through the floor, both nails forming V together. If you have tiled floors they too are relatively simple to repair. If you have a broken or loosen tile simply use adhesive and put them back together. However, if one end of the tile is loosened and there is not enough adhesive, use aluminum foil and cloth. coverage it up, heat it gently, when the adhesive is soft enough, put some more and the let the adhesive get itself cured by placing it over for a an overnight.

If you want to get back your old hardwood floor which had been hidden underneath your room carpet for quite a time, use a drum sander. Clean the remove completely take everything out and then start the drum sander, initially use 20 grit paper, then 40 and then 100. go back and forth in the whole room, going to every nook and corner. Make sure that all the heating and cooling outlets are properly closed and covered. After finishing, use vacuum cleaner to clean everything off. In the end use polyurethane varnish to give final cleansing touches.
