Introduction

Birmingham is a city located at the foothills of the Appalachian Mountains. The city was founded around 1871, but in the 1900s it started to prosper. Founded at the crossing of 2 railroads, the city developed quickly becoming a major industrial center for Southern regions. During the Depression, Birmingham faced setbacks, but after the second World War, it made a comeback becoming one of the most attractive cities in the area.

Birmingham is a diverse city which brings together traditions, cultures and balanced history along with a mix of amazing activities. The old parts of the city blend with the new ones, making the city a very popular destination among tourists. Some people that came to visit even bought a Birmingham home here, because people are friendly and their lifestyle is very attractive.

The center of the city includes various businesses, from rare antiques shops to original local art shops. You will not get bored here because the nightlife is lively and there are great entertaining opportunities. In the city you can find one of the most popular entertainment and shopping districts, the Five Points South district.

Shopping is one of the most popular activities in the city, but there are many attractive places that just beg you to explore them. Because of that, many people chose to buy a Birmingham home and settled here while others built resorts or vacation homes. Among the various tourist attractions found in the city we can mention the Museum of Art, which is the largest museum in the southeast as well as the first regional museum within the country.

Back in the 1960s, the park was the center of demonstrations and meetings against racial discrimination and civil rights.

Some of the meetings ended badly because there were a multitude of attacks against the demonstrators, some of them gaining nationwide media coverage., the park is a place of hope and peace, honoring the ones that sacrificed their lives fighting for the cause.

It’s not easy to find a Birmingham home. If you consider buying a Birmingham home, you should make preparations. It’s not very easy to find a house because very few people sell their homes. They are very fond of their birthing place, the place where they lived their whole life and it’s hard for them to separate from the city that gives them hope and peace.
