Step 1
There are several distinct kinds of housing schemes and plans. Each one of them is unique and different from the other in many aspects. Some housing schemes have identical homes; some have been different. Some have huge buildings, while others have small flats and compartments. People choose them according to their needs and requirements. Hundreds of housing schemes have sprung up today, that provide a variety of facilities different from the other. Among these schemes is a patio home.
Step 2
Patio home was discovered in the mid-1870s. It is also known as a cluster home or a townhouse as well. It is one of the recent and modern kinds of housing schemes. It consists of a row of identical houses with the identical structure and architecture. They also offer the same landscape. Instead of a row of houses, there can also be a huge building and within that building, there are several identical homes called patios.
Step 3
The word patio home is derived from the word patio which means a backyard or garden in a home. Thus, a patio house should have a backyard and a garden. There are a number of characteristics that define these homes. Firstly, these homes share the same wall. If a home is in the center, then it shares both the walls of the houses on its left and right. Secondly, these houses have the same flooring too.
Step 4
There are also certain rules and regulations set up by the Homeowners Association for the patio home. Their outside maintenance is free, while any problem inside the home is solved by paying the concerned authority. Furthermore, the people living in these homes have to give a monthly fee for their residence and other facilities. They offer a great deal of facilities to the homeowners.
Step 5
Building a patio home is an arduous task. But there are certain steps that must be kept in mind to make this process much easier. There are certain equipments that you will be needing like measuring ruler, weights, shovel, hammer, bricks, wood float, level, garden hose and many more. The material required is sand, gravel, nails, lumber, string, cement etc. When you have collected the entire material and tools, plan and select a location for the patio and begin with its construction.
Tips
When the location for a patio home is decided, drain the area well and measure its size and shape with a string and measuring tape. Plan its design. Create a frame of the patio home and continue the construction process.
