Homes in New Condition: How To Find Them

Introduction

When searching for a new home for your family, it is best to find the best deal possible. When you are searching for your dream home, you may be looking toward homes in new condition that you will not have to be responsible for remodeling or doing any work to. These homes are move in ready, and may be easier to find than you may think.

Step 1

The first place you should look for homes in new condition at would be using a local real estate agent. By going to a local agent, they will have a large list of homes that are available for sale. They also have the MLS systems, which is a system used strictly for real estate agents to where they can see any comments that other real estate agents may have left on the homes. Sometimes the comments may consist of how the home condition is inside. Such as the homes in new condition inside, or needs minimal work or etc. This is the primary place to look for homes in new condition.

Step 2

Another excellent place to look is by getting a list of foreclosed homes. Sometimes, these homes in new condition insider are foreclosed homes. Foreclosures on homes happen when the homeowner is no long able to assume the mortgage. Usually, then homes are put up for sale locally through the court house.

If no one is interested in purchasing the home, then the bank who held the home loan will find a local real estate agent to try and sell the home at a specified amount. Depending on how much the homeowner owed on the home, the bank is usually willing to negotiate for a "fair market" price of the home and accept less than the home owner owed on the home. By selling the home for a reduced price, the bank will then be assure that the home will not set empty and that they will be earning some money off the home.

By finding a foreclosed home, you may be able to find a home in new condition inside of it.

Step 3

Decide what area you want to live and will be commuting to and from work. Decide if you are willing to travel a farther distance to save thousands off home in new condition. Sometimes it may be worth the extra travel.

If you decide that it will be worth it, check out your local and all surrounding FSBO'S (for sale by owner) homes. Once you find a home that you may like, call and ask what shape the home is in.

Step 4

Search Craigslist in your local and the surrounding areas to see if someone is looking to sell their home and see if it list what condition the home is in. E-mail or call and see what the person who is selling their home has to say about the up keep of their home. Simply by speaking with someone on the some, you may get a good idea of what condition the home may be in.

Step 5

Use Google as your search tool. There are many good home sites such as zillow.com, trulia.com, homesandland.com, and many others that you can use as a good search tool. With all these sites most of the homes show interior pictures that the owner or agent have taken of the home. By looking at the pictures alone, you can tell somewhat what condition the home is in. It will give you a good idea of if the home needs updating, or has recently been updated. Also, it will typically tell if the home was updated recently in the information section on the ad.

Tips

Never meet anyone alone off Craigslist or any other sites when looking for homes. Always take someone with you in case the owner doesn't have the best intentions.
