Introduction
Planning a party can be quite an arduous job, especially if it is a themed party. You have to manage everything from the decorations, food, the invitations list, and even the trivial things like theme songs. There is usually too much work and too little time. You cannot afford to slack and many a times you need to hire a party planner who will make sure you have the best party in town. A 80s theme party with 80s theme songs will work out great for someone who grew up in the 80s. It would be like reviving their childhood or youth. It would be perfect for people who are turning 30. A great way to celebrate your birthday, by inviting all your friends and reminding yourself of the person you were before.
History
The first thing you need to do while planning such a party is to send out the invitations. Make sure the invitations explain the theme to the guests. You do not have to spend a lot of money on the invitations, as they can be done quite cheaply. A nicely printed invitation would be perfect. An invitation card in the shape of a cassette is a good choice for your invitation's.
Features
The next thing that should be on your agenda should be the music and games. You need to know how to keep the guests entertained. And this of course includes the 80s theme songs that are going to be played at the party. No party is complete without dancing, and that can only be achieved if you have good music for the party. For the music arrange a cassette player, a record or a juke box. A juke box would be very convenient as people can play and dance to the theme songs of their choice. You can find many CDs and cassettes that have the best of 80s theme songs. But of course, they might contain songs that you might not like to play on your party. The best things to do would be to compile all your favorite 80s theme songs and burn them on a CD or have someone record it on a cassette. You can even arrange a cassette player and tune it to a 80s radio channel that plays all the 80s theme songs. A good game to be played on such a party would be pinning the glove on Michael Jackson. This is exactly like pin the tail on the donkey except that it has Michael Jackson and his glove instead of the donkey and his tail.
Tips and comments
While planning a 80s theme party the main thing that should be kept in mind is that you need to go overboard with whatever you do. “Excess” is the key word here. Whether it is your clothes, decorations or makeup everything should be done in “excess”. Only in that way you can have the perfect 80s themed party.
