Introduction

Adding a media mp3 to your iPod doesn't have to be a difficult task. You can find a media mp3 a few different places and download it to your iPod. You can do this with iTunes or without. Some people prefer using iTunes while others don't.

Step 1

First, you will want to find a media mp3 that you want to put on your iPod. If it is on your computer, locate where it is, or if it's on a website download it to a folder on your computer where you can later locate it easily.

Step 2

Once you have your media mp3 downloaded to your computer, open your iTunes application and with the iTunes window open drag your media mp3 over to iTunes. After the media mp3 is added you will see a plus sign to indicate this.

Step 3

You can choose to add a media mp3 to your iPod by bypassing iTunes altogether. First you will need to set up your iPod as a hard drive. Doing this is relatively simple. All you need to do is connect your iPod to your computer, open up iTunes than select the iTunes icon, click the summary tab than hit "enable disk use" or "Manually manage music and videos." Using either of these options will work. The latter option though will not automatically update your library. So if you want your library automatically updated you should check the "enable disk use."

Step 4

Now, that your iPod is set up to use as a hard drive you can find some software applications that will allow you to download music from any computer to your iPod. Floola is freeware that will allow you to sync not only audio, but video as well to your iPod. It can help manage your music lists, artwork, find duplicate songs and play a media mp3 on any computer. It also can be integrated with Last.fm. Floola is easy to use with its simple drag and drop interface. Floola is a cross platform meaning that it works between a Mac and PC.

Step 5

You can use MyPodder which is another freeware that uses a cross platform. You will need to open an account on their website to use MyPodder. After you have done the initial setup you will be able to play music from your iPod on any computer.

Tips

If you have made a mistake in what media mp3 you downloaded to your iPod you can delete the song. If it is a single song just click on it. If there are multiple songs next to one another just use the shift key holding down while clicking each one. If you are wanting to delete multipe  songs that are not next to each other use the control key instead of the shift key on your keyboard while you are clicking each one. You can also delete an entire album by selecting the title of the album or even delete all mp3s by a particular artist. Once you have all the music picked you want to delete you can do either one of the following: hit delete on your keyboard, go to the Edit menu and hit delete, or right click with your mouse and select "send to recycling bin"
