Introduction
All MP3 players have a finite amount of space and so the more gigabytes of storage that a manufacturer includes with the original device the better. A 4 GB MP3 player is adequately for many people. The only concern for end-users is figuring out how to get music files onto the device, with ease and without complication.
In some cases, owners are restricted to one or two basic methods for transferring music to the 4 GB MP3 device. To clarify that further, the manufacturer incorporated music transfer capabilities that would suit most users, but unfortunately, restrictions exist that prevent every user from having complete success. Luckily, there are a variety of ways to transfer music to a 4 GB MP3 player.
Step 1
Gather the necessary hardware that facilitates the transfer of music to the 4 GB MP3 player. The original packaging should have included a USB data transfer cable that connects between the MP3 player and PC.
Step 2
Install the software according the instructions. This software includes device drivers that helps the computer recognize the 4 GB MP3 in the operating system. This software program also includes a music transfer application.
Step 3
Connect the 4 GB MP3 player to an available USB port on the PC.
Step 4
Open the music transfer application on your PC. Drag and drop music files from the hard drive on your PC to the storage memory inside the MP3 player. Disconnect the player after all the songs have been transferred over to the player.
Step 5
Use the music transfer application that came in your operating system to transfer files to the 4 GB MP3 player, as an alternative. For example, if you use Microsoft Windows on a PC, open the Windows Media Player application then transfer files to the device. You still need a USB transfer cable for the player.
Tips
- Remove the memory card from the 4 GB MP3 player, if the manufacturer built in that capability. Most MP3 players have built-in memory that is not removable, but large capacity models might allow for the additional of extra microSD memory cards. For example, the original MP3 player may state that the device "supports" 4 GB of storage, but it only includes 2 GB. You can add 2 GB by obtaining an extra card.
