History
Amongst musical instruments, the guitar is one which has versions constructed since the earliest of times. The oldest preserved version of the guitar is 3500 years old and Egyptian. It belonged to the Egyptian musician Har-Mose. Other versions of the guitar include the lute and the sitar. By the Renaissance guitars were evolving, four string guitars were turning into five string ones and the tuning patter had been set to A, D, G, B, E, like the top five strings of the contemporary guitar. In transition from five to six strings more nuts and bolts were added to make tuning easier. Use of metal strings started around the period of 1900. Electric guitars were started to be developed around the jazz age of the 1920’s. Who made the first solid body electric guitar is an honor contested. Whether it was Les Paul, Leo Fender, Paul Bigsby or O.W. Appleton, it is still a controversy.
Features
Amongst classes for musical instruments, guitar classes are the most common. In a typical beginners class children are taught the basics of guitar playing. Initially they learn the proper way to hold a guitar while playing it so it does not slip. They are taught how to hold down a note so they can get a clear tone on their instrument. Simple 123 exercises are taught so a child’s hands are strengthened and simple songs are taught to be played. Beginners’ classes include learning different strumming pattern usually not more than four basic one and nine new guitar chords as well. Other skills that will be developed include the being able to change between chord shapes with your left hand and then strumming these very chords with your right. Some guitar teachers also teach children how to read music.
Tips and comments
Tips on finding the right guitar school or guitar teacher would include having someone who has a proper college degree in music, people who learnt playing an instrument properly can more often than not teach it properly too. It’s better to get a trial session with the teacher first as well, later if the child isn’t learning from a certain teacher than the amount of money lost will be less. Lastly, it would be best if you get a teacher who has seen performances, knows the difference between good and bad music and who can perform as well. Find a teacher who fits your criteria of being good.
