Introduction
Guitar Hero has been a staple in many gamers libraries for the past seven years. The Xbox 360 Guitar Hero version has been one of the most widely purchased and enjoyed of these games. It has given people the ability to play along with some of their favorite songs and feel like they are really playing an instrument. The success of Xbox 360 Guitar Hero has led to multiple sets of songs being released and also tracks from their favorite artists. It is no wonder that the success of the Xbox 360 Guitar Hero has led to millions of dollars being made for the companies that released them. Below is a review of the Guitar Hero series and what it has brought to the gaming world.
Pros
There are many great things to talk about when mentioning the Xbox 360 Guitar Hero. It has taken people who before could listen to their favorite songs and has let them take part in the song. When Xbox 360 Guitar Hero was first released the player could only use the guitar to play along to a song. But as the game has evolved it has come to include: drum sets, microphones, and a bass. This means that in entire group of people can play different instruments and feel like a band. It is a great idea for parties and as a way for people to have fun.
As the notes come down the screen you have to press the corresponding color on your instrument to play the note and keep the music going. The instruments are synced well with what shows up on the screen and this makes the illusion of playing a real instrument all the more real.
There are also hundreds of songs now available so that almost any preference in music can be found. Music ranging from heavy metal to pop songs can all be found either in the initial game or as a purchasable download. This equals hours of entertainment for either yourself or a whole group.
Cons
Even with all of its great success there is still some drawbacks to Xbox 360 Guitar Hero. One of the drawbacks is that the artist or song that you truly enjoy may not be available. Some artists have chosen to not include their songs on Xbox 360 Guitar Hero due to preference or dislike for their songs being turned into a game.
Another con of Xbox 360 Guitar Hero is that some of the songs are not done by the actual artists. Many of the songs, especially the songs in the original Guitar Hero, are done by cover bands. This has lessened as the popularity of the game has grown. Now most of the songs are done by the real artists and art of better quality.
Tips and Comments
Many people mistakingly think that they can play a real instrument because they can play Xbox 360 Guitar Hero on expert. Remember, this is just a game and playing the real instrument is much more time-consuming and difficult. The game is great for entertainment purposes and can give hours of fun to a party or get-together.
