How Teens Can Find Jobs In Babysitting

Finding a babysitting job is pretty easy to do considering there has always been and will always be a need for childcare. A great way for teenagers to work and earn some money is by babysitting. There are several ways a teen can find babysitting jobs.

Step 1

Probably the best and most advantageous way of finding jobs in babysitting is by word of mouth. Just about everyone knows someone who has a need for childcare. You may even have friends who have younger siblings who require a babysitter. among your relatives there is probably someone who needs childcare or knows someone who does.

Let your friends and family know that you are offering babysitting services and what you charge. It also helps if you give them the hours that you will be available to provide services. Most of the jobs in babysitting you may run across by word of mouth will most likely be close to you so you wouldn't have to travel far to work.

Step 2

Another great way to find leads for jobs in babysitting is to check the classifieds in your local newspaper. You may also want to check ads in other area newspapers not far away from you. With those resources you are sure to run across someone that is need of babysitting services.

Many newspapers have websites where you can read the newspaper and classified ads.  The section you will want to look in would be labeled as employment, jobs, or help wanted.  It may be that you find listings for jobs in babysitting in those sections of the newspaper.

Step 3

Take your search to the Internet and look in your local area or the closest area to you by going to www.Craigslist.com.  Where you live will depend on the area you want to search in, but Craigslist will generally have some listings for those in search of babysitting jobs.

While Craigslist is a good source for advertising, you must be somewhat cautious when using them to find jobs in babysitting or any other job. It is always good to consult the advice of a parent or other adult when responding to ads for jobs in babysitting.

Try posting some flyers on local bulletin boards. These can be found in coin laundry centers, some grocery or retail establishments, convenient stores and even restaurants. Make sure you put your name and telephone number on the flyer as well as your rates and hours of availability.

Step 5

Last but not least, put the social networking sites to work for you. Most teenagers have Facebook accounts, MySpace accounts, or belong to some sort of social networking site. Post bulletins, status updates or whatever method of posting it takes to get the word distributed to the ones on your friends list. Similar to word of mouth advertising, this method can be successful because it will be seen by each and every person on your friends list.

• If you arent old enough to drive, you will need to make sure you have a way to get to and from the job.
• Its always best to start out in a babysitting job with someone you or your family knows.  Thats the best way to get some experience and references.
