Register at sites such as Monster, Dice, Yahoo jobs and Career Builder. Registering allows you to find job listings in your field of work. You can upload your resume to make applying easier. There are search options to make the job search easy. In addition to you being able to find job listings, prospective employers are also able to find you on these sites. You may find that you get telephone calls for jobs that meet your skill level and experience by registering at these sites. 

Step 2

Another way to find job listings is to register at specialty sites such as Bicsi. Bicsi is a site that specializes in jobs in the telecommunications industry. This site works similar to Monster or Careerbuilder except that you will only find job listings for one certain industry. Bicsi is just one such site, there are others for other career fields, such as medical workers and teachers. The benefits of registering at a site such as this is that you will find job listings that all have to do with your career field. You do not have to sift through a bunch of jobs that are not in your field. You also have a good chance of employers finding you on a site that is dedicated to your career choice. Employers will often look at specialty sites first when looking to hire employees.

Your local Craigslist is another option to find job listings. Craiglist has a job section broken down into several categories. You can click on the category of your choice to be taken to a page where jobs in that field are listed. Jobs are added throughout the day so it is a good idea to check back often. This is one of the benefits of Craigslist, the fact that you can check back and find new listings all day. You can also list your services on Craigslist for those who might need them. Generally when you find job listings on Craigslist that interest you, you are able to email your information to show interest in the job, along with your resume.

Your local newspapers classified section is another place to find job listings. These are often listed online so you can visit the site to browse the ads. Newspaper classified ads will usually give information on how to apply for these positions. Some will have information on where to go to apply, others will tell you where to go online to find the application and some will have a telephone number. Be sure to read the entire ad to make sure that you follow directions on applying for the position.

For those who know where they would like to work, visit the website for the company. For example, if you would like to work at Target, Walmart or Burger King, visit the website and click the careers button. The careers button will take you to the area to find job listings. Once there, you can browse current openings. You are also able to fill out an application that will be kept on file for a period of time.

Tips

Once you find job listings you would like to apply for, make sure that you have enough time to complete the application before you start. Some of these can be lengthy. While some may let you save your progress and come back to it, others do not.
