The next thing is taking extra classes about sicknesses, and diseases. This will help enhance the knowledge that you will need to carry on in the nutrition field. Nutrition jobs are becoming quite competitive and therefore, having an additional background on the illnesses can help you get the job that you want or need.

Step 3

The next thing is to do an Internship. This not only will help you decide if you do want to take any additional classes to be add-on to your degree or not. This also gives you first-hand knowledge on what a typical day will consist of when you are actually working in the nutrition field. This will also give you an upper hand with employers since you have already worked in a sense in the nutrition field.

Step 4

Next you will want to start looking for nutrition jobs. The best place to start is the newspaper. There could be listings for local health agencies or companies looking forward to hiring on someone with your experience. You will also want to check with your local hospitals and clinics. Most clinics offer nutrition jobs in their practice so that way they don't have to do the referral paperwork with insurance companies. It also makes it easier because the consult can be done right then and there. So there are many options you have when looking for nutrition jobs. Don't be afraid to just check with other offices, and businesses that might interest you such as a health store. Often employers don't advertise it, but actually may be considering it. You could be the only candidate, and that could make it easier to get the job.

Step 5

The last thing is to make sure your resume is accurate and complete. You want to make sure the employers can call references if needed. You also want to make sure that your resume stands out. You don't have to put additional characters, bold print to stand out, but keep it simple and basic. This will make it easier for employers to go through your resume and see if you are a good fit.
