Introduction
If you want to get your product in front of a whole lot of potential customers at one time that a tradeshow is the ticket. While making that first impression you are able to show the product while describing it. When you become really good at the presentations over the years repeat customers will start seeking your display out in the crowd.
Selection
Companies are on a budget for advertising and it is very important not to go over the allotted budget. This is why you have to look at all the tradeshows that are coming for the year and attend the best ones. To help narrow down the options look at the ones that concentrate on the industry that you are in. then start looking at the ones that draw the crowds’ in. some can draw more then 10 thousand people in while the tradeshow is in full swing. Also make sure to check all the prices. Everything is going to cost including getting your best sales people to the location.
Narrowing it down
So now you have a list of the tradeshows that you would like to attend. So now concentrate on the decision makers. Decision makers do not attend just any tradeshow most will only make an appearance once a year. This is the tradeshow that you want to send your staff to. It is going to take some work at your end but, start going down your list and contact each show’s management. See if you can get a demographic profile of everyone that is scheduled to attend. You should receive a list showing only general titles of the people. It is these titles that will need to be looked at and also see if they have any kind of purchasing responsibility.
Another good thing is while talking with the managers of each tradeshow see how the show is going to be promoted. Sometimes it is also good to know what kind of strategy is going to be used for luring people in. It is also nice if there is food being offered but, only if the decision makers are allowed to walk around and spend some time with the vendors. If everyone is going to be crammed in one room for lunch so they can talk then this might be one that you pass by.
Booth
Every tradeshow has a certain amount of space allotted out to each vendor. Some are small spaces while others are huge just depending on how much you want to pay for the space. Once you have the measurements of where your booth will be sitting now it is time to see which kind of boot will work the best. For smaller spaces there are table top and pop up models available. As the space grows so can your booth all the way up to 40 foot by 40 foot. These all range in prices for 1,000 to above 15,000 dollars each. One good rule to remember is per square foot it is recommended to spend $120 max.
