How To View Google Earth

Introduction

You can view just about any location around the world; see buildings, images and land with Google Earth. Using Google Earth can be done on the internet or you can choose to download the product right to your desktop. It is also offered in a mobile application that will allow you to access it right from your mobile phone.

Google Earth is easy to use on the internet, through their download or on your mobile phone. When you decide you want to view Google Earth in any of its available methods, the first thing you should do is go directly to www.earth.google.com. From there, you can view their homepage, see their exploration options, download, and put the help features to use in case you were to have any issues when using Google Earth.

Once you arrive at the Google Earth homepage, you need to decide what method you want to use in viewing places on Google Earth. If you should choose to download the application to your computer, you would simply need to click on “Download Google Earth.” If that’s the choice you make, Google has provided step-by-step instructions which will guide you right through the download and installation process.

If you choose to view Google Earth through the web-based version, all you have to do is select the web option from their product information. You will be accessing the same information that would have been made available through their desktop download. The only difference is that you are viewing it online and you will not have to download the full application to your computer.

Once you arrive at the search landing page, you can do several things. You can type in an address which includes a street name, city and state; get directions to a certain destination or view a map of a certain location. When you make the choice to use the web-based Google earth application, you will be installing a plug-in on your computer which will allow you to view Google Earth locations online.

The Google Earth application for mobile phones is available for Android phones, tablets, iPhones, iPod Touch and iPad’s. If you have a compatible phone and wish to view Google Earth on your phone, you must open your web browser and go to www.m.google.com/earth. 

With a compatible phone and the mobile download you will be enabled to access all of the same features included with the desktop version. With the pan, zoom and tilt view options you will get a clear, concise picture of the areas you choose to visit. Geographic information is readily available for those who wish to view Google Earth by any of the convenient methods offered.

Tips

Make sure your mobile phone is compatible before downloading the Google Earth application to your phone.  If not, you will not be able to view Google Earth.
