How To View Places on Google Earth

Introduction

Google Earth allows you to easily find and view nearly any geographical location around the entire world. With a few clicks of your mouse, you can see the great pyramids in Egypt and then fly across the world to see the front door of your favorite boutique. There is so much that you can do with Google Earth. This high tech software can be downloaded for free to your computer for you to use. You will be able to see life like terrain, 3D imagery, maps, and so much more when using the Google Earth software. This is the closest you will get to exploring the world without having to leave the comfort of your home.

Step 1

To view Google Earth locations on a map, you will first need to download the Google Earth software to your computer. You can do so by going to Google.com/earth. Here, you will see lots of different information about Google Earth and what you will be able to see and do when using it. Click on the download link in the top menu to get started with the installation process. Google Earth is available for computers running PC, Mac, or Linux operating systems and is compatible with Windows XP or greater, Mac OS X 10.5.0 or later, and LSB 4.0 libraries. Be sure that you computer meets these specifications before continuing with the download.

Step 2

After you have downloaded Google Earth, you can start to view Google Earth locations. If you want to look at a specific location on the map that you know the address of, just enter this location address in to the search box. After you click to search, the map will load your location and show you a real life picture of the place that you'd like to view. Click the point on the map to get locations to and from the address. This is great way to get directions to somewhere and see exactly what the area will look like before going there.

Step 3

If you do not know the address of a location, you can view Google Earth places by entering a search term in to the search box. For example, if you are interested in finding a hair salon in Tampa, FL, just enter, "hair salon tampa fl" in to the search box. This will bring up search results that you can click on and then view Google Earth locations on the map.

Step 4

After finding a location that you will need to remember or would like to be able to view Google Earth at a later time, just click on file and then save. This will save the location to places tab, where you can click on it at a later time to see it again.

Step 5

There is so much more that you can go to view Google Earth locations all around the world. Enter the flight simulator feature and you will go on a realistic journey across the world, as if you were actually flying high above popular destinations in an airplane. You can also view the sky, the moon, and mars to see what's actually up there and what it really looks like. There is so much to see and explore with Google Earth that you will never get tired of using the software.
