Introduction
Maps.google.com is a web service which provides user friendly mapping services to the users. It includes all locations like business, contact location and different driving directions. It is a free of cost service which is provided by Google. There are many map based web sites like Google Ride Finder and Google Transit etc which uses Maps.Google.Com. It provides us all types of maps for street walkers, for travellers (by foot, car, bike or any transport) in any country of world. The images of Google maps are old and not updated. It does not show the images around the poles. Google Earth is a service which provides you all areas even around the poles.
History
Maps.Google.Com shows the images of location of countries like United States of America, Canada, United Kingdom, Australia, Egypt, English speaking areas and many more. It shows high resolution images of especially urban areas which are provided either by aerial or satellite. For the sake of security Maps.Google.Com has made some of the critical areas of United States blur, so that the terrorists can’t take help from that Google search for attacks. It includes US Naval Observatory area, United States Capitol and White House. Google shows the results mostly for more populated areas.
Features
Maps.Google.com also provides you maps through Mobiles. There was a Java application which was known as Google maps for Mobile. It can run on any java application on mobile. First time the Google maps were released in November 28, 2007 for mobile 2.0. It provides GPS location without requiring GPS receiver. There is also a feature which is known as “My Location”. You can have the location of your cell phone as there is software which keeps the location of your cell using a database. The signals are catched from different cell transmitters and then your location is being copied. There is certain procedure which is being followed for “My Location” and it includes following order:
