Surgery is also a good option for someone who is suffering from heart disease, diabetes or sleep apnea. Surgery weight or bariatric surgery helps by limiting amount of food intake or by interrupting digestive processes. The bariatric surgery is a serious undertaking which should be approached with care since it has its own pros and cons. Some of the cons would include blood clots, infections and hernias. The article focuses on advising you on what to do and what not to do after a surgery weight loss.

Step 1

You should know when to call your surgeon. Weeks after surgery weight, you should call your surgeon if you develop a high fever of over 101 degrees, you experience uncontrollable pain, you cannot keep fluids down, you experience difficulty in breathing, you develop unexplainable severe leg pain, you notice dark bloody stools and if you suddenly begin to bruise easily.

Step 2

The reason for surgery weight is to cut weight and it would be unrealistic if you do not involve in active exercises that ensures you keep fit. During your exercises though, care should be taken to ensure you do not injure yourself or involve yourself in activities or movements that may cause pain in the area you had surgery. Another advantage of exercising is that it betters your stamina improvement. Walking as an exercise immediately after weight surgery will help in preventing serious complications such as blood clot and pulmonary embolus.

Step 3

Avoid working against surgery weight by ensuring you limit your caloric intake after surgery to assist you in losing weight. Caloric food is high energy food whose intake leads to increase in weight. A calorie counter can assist you in checking your daily caloric intake. One should ensure every calorie count by focusing on the intake of vegetables, fruits and protein. Sugar has very high content of calorie and again sugar provides no nutritional value, makes your blind climb and causes hunger pangs. Sugar should be avoided as much as possible plus any food that in its list of ingredients has listed sugar in the top three.

As much as drinking a lot of water is advisable in making you feel energetic and in helping you from confusing hunger from thirst, its intake should be monitored. You should avoid intake of fluids immediately before, during or after your meal. Drinking during and before your meal will fill your stomach with fluid while drinking immediately after meal can wash food from stomach making feel hungry fast. There should be a margin of thirty minutes between food and meals.

Alcohol, which is full of empty calories like sugar, should be avoided. Carbonated drinks such as soda may increase pressure in your stomach and gas pain which could be dangerous to staples especially immediately after surgery weight. While drinking your fluids, you should avoid use of straws since they allow someone to drink very quickly causing uncomfortable stomach. At the same time, straws allow passage of air into the stomach which can cause discomforts.

Step 5

To ensure effective surgery weight loss, one should eat mindfully. Focus on the food you eat and learn to stop when you are full. This will involve you avoiding snacking between meals and sticking to quality food. Proteins should be the primary meal since it helps you in maintaining your muscle while loosing weight and it also makes you feel full longer. To prevent vomiting during after your meals and also to prevent nausea, ensure a thorough chewing of your food. Big chunks of food can also cause pain while passing through the digestive tract after weigh surgery.

Step 6

Do not skip surgeon appointments after a surgery weight loss and ensure you finish your medicine dosage.
