Some companies may require candidates to possess a high school diploma, while others may require them to have a degree or equivalent qualification. Of much more importance, is the experience of working with customers, especially in a retail environment. The most common method of entry is through the promotion of retail sales assistants, sales assistants, supervisors and other departmental employees. Some stores will run graduate trainee management schemes, for candidates with particular degrees.
