Introduction

You can find several ways on how to come up with some play money. You may need to be a little creative to find the extra spending money, but if you haven't been keeping a tight budget then most likely the play money is there somewhere. Little extra money spent here or there when stopping at a convenience store or fast food restaurant add up quickly and your could be play money is going to waste. Let's see what we can come up with to get you having a little more fun with your money.

Step 1

First you will want to figure out how much money you bring home and how much money goes out to necessities such as food, bills, savings, and the like. You don't want all of your extra money going to waste or going towards play. It is smart to also put some of that money aside for saving or an emergency fund. Once you have this figured out you will see what money, if any that you have for play.

Step 2

Now that you have your budget set, see what money you have that is extra and where you want to put it to use. If you do not have play money try to cut out in areas such as the quick meal at a fast food restaurant on the dollar menu. If you get a coffee every morning or afternoon, that all adds up and you will quickly see that your daily coffee break is costing you an extra $20 a week. That's a whopping $80 or more a month that you could be using as play money for something a lot more fun than drinking flavored water!

Step 3

You can also cut down on other bills if you are wanting more play money. Try using less electricity. Make sure that your thermostat is adjusted accordingly when you are not home. If you have cable and don't watch TV that much or do not use all your extra channels, then try downgrading your cable bill to less channels. Cell phone bills can eat up a lot of cash. Try selecting a plan that is more budget friendly.

Step 4

Do you work close to work or have a friend you work with? You can try riding your bike to work which will not only help you save on gas money but will also help with less pollution for the environment. You can also carpool with a friend or coworker to save on gas cost so that money can then be put toward your play fund.

Step 5

Now all that is left to do is have fun spending and using up your play money.

Tips

Spend less money on quick food and drinks.

Ride a bike to work or carpool with a friend.

Cut back on your utilities.

Figure out exactly what you want to use your play money for. This will make a big difference and help you decide where you need or should cut back on other expenses. Finding a part time job can also be an option but this will cut out time for play itself even though it will bring in extra money.
