There are a few different ways to pay insurance premiums. It is important to be sure to pay each insurance premium when it is due. This helps to make sure that you have uninterrupted coverage. Failure to pay insurance will result in your policy being canceled. Once the policy is canceled, renewing it could result in higher costs. You have the option to pay insurance over the telephone, by mail, in person at a local office or online.
Step 1
Register with your insurance company at their website. To pay insurance online, you will first need to set up an account with your insurance provider. Visit the website of the company you are insured through. Click the register or sign up button. You will be asked some personal information that you will enter, this information will include your username and password. Be sure to use something that you will remember, as you will need this information whenever you want to sign into your account.
Step 2
Sign in to the insurance company's website. When it is time to pay insurance, sign into the website, using your username and password. Click the button to view your bill.

Click on the option to pay insurance bill. You will be given the option to pay the entire portion, which would usually be the amount for six month period. You will also be given the option to pay the monthly balance due. Pay attention here and be sure that you put a tick next to the correct option.
Step 4
Choose your payment option. In order to pay insurance online, you will need a credit card, debit card or a checking account. For those using a credit or debit card, you will have to input your entire credit or debit card number, the expiration date and you may need the security code from the back of your card. It is find to enter that code, it is used for your own protection. This way someone cannot just see the front of your card and copy down the info, they would have to possess the card in order to see the numbers on the back.
In order to pay insurance by check you will have to enter your routing and account numbers from your checking account into the payment form.
Step 5
Look over the transaction before clicking submit. Make sure all of the information is correct, including your card numbers. If everything is correct, click submit in order to pay insurance. Be sure to only click submit once to avoid paying double. Wait until the payment is done submitting and copy down your receipt number for your records.

You will often have an option when you pay insurance online to have your premiums automatically deducted from your account each time they are due. If you would like to take advantage of this put a check next to the box for automatic payments. If you do not want to do this, make sure that the box is left unchecked.
