Introduction
For many people college is a time for exploration. Trying to see where they want to go with their life. What they are good at and what they need to work on. Many colleges take this into account and attempt to make it easier on the students to do all of this. States like Connecticut have many colleges and universities that are for student of all kinds. Some Connecticut colleges / universities (for the purpose of this article I will call them colleges universities) not only accept a wide ‘genre’ of students but also embrace and encourage the diversity, so no matter what a person’s interest or past education is there is always a Connecticut colleges universities waiting to accept them with welcome arms.
History
Connecticut colleges universities have such a wide span of influence that it has been selected for some of not only the country’s but the world’s greatest post-secondary education in the world. The school I am talking about is Yale University, located in New Haven. Yale University is, obviously, Connecticut colleges universities at their best. Yale is one of the World’s best schools for one reason more than any other. It is old. Yes, that is basically the reason why Yale University is at where it is today. Yale is the third university ever built in the United States, hence why it is in Connecticut. Anyways, Yale University has such a high level of curriculum because of its heavy involvement in both the Great Awakening and the Enlightenment, which are both times when education became influenced to be tougher and more rigorous. Slowly, in time, Yale University began to lead the post-secondary education front and decided that it would rather stay at the top then rest in the commons¹. Today it is one of the most respected colleges in both the world and the United States, proving itself to be ahead of the pack in all fields and aspects.

However, if Ivy League schools are not of any interest, there are many other Connecticut colleges universities that offer different courses and curriculum. Take the United States Coast Guard Academy for example, this university was attracted to the area because of its closeness to open bodies of water and because there were other universities, like Yale, already in the area. This school is a more lax university, of the United States Military Core Universities, because admission is based only on merit and does not require a congressional nomination, like other U.S. Military Universities do.

While the schools that have been talked about previously are some of the most unique and fascinating universities in the United States, not all Connecticut colleges universities are of national merit and recognition. Central Connecticut State University is a more average, while still unique school. As far as Connecticut colleges universities, go it is one of the more ordinary schools. It offers many of the expected courses and does not particularly stand out among a crowd, unless of course you are among many prestigious schools.

Trinity College, which is just slightly younger than Yale University, Trinity is one another notable Connecticut college and has shown a late increase of applications 45% on of the largest increases ever.

Colleges such as Yale and Trinity have a lot of influence when it comes to shaping the minds of the future. Almost everyone who graduates form a Connecticut college or university is immediately awarded respect and often holds a position of power.
