Introduction
Every laptop has built in speakers in it but when these speakers do not give a sound of good quality, the sound can be made of better by using external speakers. Step 1
The first thing to do when it comes to connecting the laptop with external speakers is that you take a pair of speakers. You connect the speaker that is labeled L towards the left side of the laptop and the speaker that is labeled R to the right side of the laptop. If you connect them otherwise, then your speakers might not work. You can even add a subwoofer in the same manner.

The next thing that you need to do is to find a sound card on the laptop. Laptops with everything built in have a sound card. You need to check the front and the back side of your audio jack. They are the ones that are marked with the audio or the sound buttons. They are the ones that have symbols of micro phone on them. The symbol of head jack comes into view when you connect the external speakers to the laptops, you will see it as soon as you insert the speakers.
Step 3
There is also a head jack plug insertion button. You need to insert the plug of the external speakers to the head jack and then the external speakers will actually work. Laptops with the head jacks are always there.

After this, you have to test each speaker and see if they are working or not. You can test this by looking at the bar that shows the sign and then there are laptops with the symbols shown on the bar. You can even load music or a video file and then see if the sound is coming or not. And you must check it after you see that the laptop is not mute and the volume is not that low that you can not even hear it.

After this is done, you can adjust the sound. You must click on to the volume tray and then you can change the volume type, you can click to whichever type of sound you want. There are laptops with this particular thing which help you in altering the sound of the speakers. This volume panel helps you alter the sounds of the CD, the DVD or any other type of digital file.
Tips
The speakers must be plugged in with care, because if the procedure goes wrong then this might lead to a short circuit, in many computers. But laptop with no wires might cause a short circuit because of the external speakers. The laptop with the plug in buttons also has the risk of not working properly.
